Nature Kindergarten – Fridays

Tapiola connects children to nature, themselves and to the group through play, adventure and beauty. Time in nature yields long-term benefits in cognitive, emotional and social development.
Give your child the gift of being in nature; exploring the streams, fields and forested areas on our 13 acre Tapiola campus plus a 14 acre forest. The environment enhances a deep sense of wonder, joy and imagination of young children. In nature one connects again to a sense of well being and wholeness.
In today’s world, with its early academics, lack of movement and flood of media, many children are overwhelmed and struggling. Society is in a hurry and the pressure on children is enormous. A Nature kindergarten can give the child a break from the demands of a ‘school week’ and can provide a healthy foundation for life and readiness to learn that prepares them for Grade One.
The task of the early childhood educator is to model wholesome work in the context of home and nature that will imitated by the child in their free play and create in them a deep connection to their own creativity, life and their will.
The program includes activities such as:
Life skills: cooking, baking, gardening, woodworking, nature walks, indoor & outdoor play
Artistic skills: watercolour painting, crayon drawing and crafts
Cultural activities: storytelling, drama, fairy tales, puppetry, singing, verses & poems, movement and seasonal festivals
The program runs on Wednesdays from 8:45am to 3:00pm at Tapiola Nature.
Note: you will be redirected to the Tapiola Nature website.
