After School Care

Get Out and Play is a nature-based after school program providing a space for fun, play and connection with nature, other children and with oneself.  We invite you to visit us and see our campus.

“I love the philosophy of the school and how you spend so much time with nature.  Jasper is happy each time he comes home.”

April Pilon
Five Mile School Parent, December 2019

The program is offered at our school campus at 140 Pento Drive, around the corner from Five Mile School. The school campus is 13 acres and provides a place where children have time and freedom to explore nature and be active balanced by boundaries and guidelines on the campus of a playing field, trails and forest.  It is also next door to North McIntyre Recreation Centre which has a playground and nature ice rinks in the winter.  The program provides a time to play board games, read and talk with friends.

The program is offered by Northern Lights School, a not-for-profit Waldorf-inspired independent school.  The school runs a kindergarten and Grade One/Two/Three.  The program is unlicensed.
